Question marks

Today I embark on a 12-week training climb toward a race distance I’ve been eyeing for almost a year now: the half marathon. Until now, this rookie runner has been too chicken to tackle that distance.

Real Housewives of Keller

I had major running burnout last week. It was horrible timing. The Turkey Trot is just days away and I’m in pursuit of beating 57:13.

But I could only manage 17 miles instead of my planned 30. Every fiber in my body pleaded for a physical and mental rest, and I obeyed my instincts. This was unfamiliar territory, since I’ve never stuck faithfully to a running program for eight plus weeks, but somehow it just felt right to taper a bit.

In place of my run one evening, I joined my eldest brother’s wife Kara for a get-together with some women in her neighborhood she recently met.
